The 2nd Southeast Asia Footwear Innovation and Sustainable Development Summit

1. Background

Vietnam is the world's third-largest footwear producer and exporter. In 2024, its export value of footwear and leather products exceeded USD 26 billion, with the North American and EU markets accounting for more than 70% of total exports.

Vietnam has formed mature footwear industrial clusters in Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong, Hanoi and other regions. Foreign-invested enterprises dominate exports with an 80% market share, while local Vietnamese manufacturers are mainly engaged in small and medium-sized production.

Most foreign brand manufacturers that previously operated factories in China have relocated their production capacity to Vietnam and Indonesia. A clear industrial division has taken shape: Vietnam focuses on R&D, while Indonesia concentrates on mass production. At the same time, Vietnam is continuously introducing advanced technologies from China, including eco-friendly new materials, supercritical foaming, 3D printing and other innovative footwear technologies.

In addition, many Chinese footwear brands are planning overseas layout strategies to accelerate global expansion and compete in the international market.

To build an efficient platform for industrial resource docking and information exchange, Aibang organizes the 2nd Southeast Asia Footwear Innovation and Sustainable Development Summit, empowering industrial upgrading and green sustainable development of the global footwear industry.
